The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is one of the largest and most recognised card schemes for the plant industry. It provides a single skills card for the plant sector of the construction industry. Since its launch in 2003 over 280,000 cards have been issued covering a wide range of plant categories.

There are 2 types of CPCS card that you can obtain;

Red Card - This is a 2 year trained operator card that is not renewable, however this card can be upgraded to the blue competant operator card

Blue Card - This is for operators that have previous experience and hold nvqs in their field.

Below is an outline to the CPCS card scheme;

BSD Training are an accredited Pearson Vue computer based test centre in Northern Ireland and approved by the CITB to deliver the CPCS health and safety tests meaning you can complete the complete CPCS theory part of the CPCS card scheme with us as well. This allows you to carry out all aspects of the CPCS card scheme with the one training provider instead of having to be sent to other centres/providers to do your theory test.
