Hiab / Lorry Loader Training Northern Ireland

At BSD Training we can provide off site lorry loader/hi-ab training to ITSSAR, CPCS and CAA standards. The lorry loader is a versatile piece of machinery which gives lorry drivers the added freedom to make deliveries to sites where there is not a forklift present to assist with unloading operations. It is important to ensure that operators are trained to use the hiab effectively and efficiently to prevent accidents and save you money through a decrease in accidental damage to product and materials whilst being loaded or unloaded using the hiab.

Our Hiab course is also CITB approved and contains a number of topics in order to prepare delegates for the practical and theoretical test including;

- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
- Pre-Use Checks & Maintenance
- Lift Planning
- Stability of the Lorry Loader
- Hazards relevant to lorry loaders - Electricity and Lorry Loaders
- Positioning the Lorry Loader
- Lifting and transporting a load close to the machine
- Lifting and transporting a load from distance to the machine
- Operation Hand Signals
- Basic Slinging (If the HIAB has hook attachment)
