Forward Tipping dumpers are common place on construction sites throughout the country. With the range of sizes available and the abilities that modern forward tipping dumpers have such as swivel skips, high tip skips, track driven, narrow access frames etc the site dumper is set to be a useful construction machine for many years to come.
It is important that any operators of construction plant and machinery receive suitable and sufficient training on the piece of equipment that they operate. We can provide a training solution that will ensure that your drivers receive training specific to their work tasks. There are a number of awarding body accreditations available for Forward Tipping Dumper training including ITSSAR, CPCS, CSR and also an in house certification approved by the CITB are all available here at BSD Training.
Below is a brief course content of the activities involved with the Forward Tipping Dumper training;
1. Complete all manufacturers’ pre-start and running checks and prepare the dumper for travel
2. In a loaded and unloaded state;
a. Travel up and down the slope
b. Stop and start on the slope in the up direction
c. Stop and start on the slope in the down direction
d. Pass through a chicane executing full right and left turns in a forward and reverse direction (unloaded only)
e. Travel over rough terrain
f. Reverse (loaded only) in a straight line for a minimum of 30 metres and pass through a restriction at the end of the run.
3. Position the dumper for loading
4. Receive a load
5. Discharge the load into the edge of excavation
6. Form a stockpile
7. Clean out the skip fully
8. Park the dumper and carry out shut down and securing procedures
