CSR Site Safety Supervisors Course

1 - 4 days

This course has been designed to give site Supervisors, or anyone who has the daily responsibility of supervising safety on construction sites a clear understanding of how Health and Safety affects their sites and the practical steps that can be taken to ensure a safe working environment.

The course lasts for 4 days and is classroom based, which generally runs on the same day each week over 4 weeks. BSD Training will supply the manuals required and all materials on the first day of training.

On successful completion of the full 4 days, a computer based Health & Safety Test will be completed by each candidate at our training centre. The date and times of this test will be arranged following the 4 day course.

Once I do the 4 day course can I then get a Gold Supervisors Card?

Completing the 4 day course is step 1 in the process of gaining your Gold Site Supervisors Card.

Gold Card - Supervisor

New requirements for the Gold Card now mean that you must hold a qualification in site supervision - Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision - Building and Civil Engineering in order to gain a Gold card.

Red Card – Trainee Supervisor

However by completing the 4 day Site Supervisors Course, HSE Computer Test and then are registered on the Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision you can be awarded a Red Card – Trainee Supervisor. This will allow you to have a supervisory card whilst you work towards completing your NVQ to upgrade it to the Gold Card.

Red Card - Experienced Supervisor

This card is available to new candidates who are experienced Supervisors but do not hold a Supervisor NVQ qualification.

To get this card you must;

  • Complete the CSR 4 Day Site Safety for Supervisors course
  • Pass the CITB(GB) Health, Safety and Environment test for Supervisors (Touch Screen test)
  • Provide proof of registration on a Supervisor NVQ (Level 3 or 4)
  • Have an employer declaration signed confirming their experience as a Supervisor.

This card cannot be renewed. Cardholders should upgrade to a gold Supervisor card on achievement of the relevant NVQ qualification.

Renewing A Gold Site Supervisors Card

We can also offer the Site Supervisors Renewal Course for those that currently hold a Gold Site Supervisors card. This course lasts for 1 day and following successful completion of the CITB Health Safety and Environment computer test will enable to renew your Site Supervisors card.

New requirements for the Gold Card now mean that you must hold a qualification in site supervision in order to renew your Gold card beyond December 2024. If you don't have an NVQ in site supervision you can still renew your Gold card however it will have an expiry date of December 2024.

To avail of the full 4 year term on your Gold card you must then complete the Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision - Building and Civil Engineering which will provide proof of your skills in a supervisory role and allow your card to be renewed.
