BSD Training is accredited by JAUPT to carry out Driver CPC training. We are accredited to carry out 5 courses each lasting 7 hours meaning you can gain the 35 hours periodic training with the one training provider causing the minimum of fuss and disruption to your business activities.

What is Driver CPC?

Driver CPC is a qualification that all professional bus, coach and lorry drivers will need to hold if they want to drive for a living.

Driver CPC applies to drivers of vehicles on roads open to the public and for which a driving licence in any of the following categories is required.

C1, C1+E, C or D+E
D1, D1+E, D or D+E
All drivers of the above categories who are either;

Nations of an EU member state or Nationals of a non-EU member state but who are employed or used by an organisation based in an EU member state have to hold a Driver CPC is they wish to drive professionally.

It is aimed not only at improving the knowledge and skills of PCV and LGV drivers when they start work, but also at ensuring these skills are maintained and developed throughout their working life. If you hold a licence in both categories you only have to obtain one Driver CPC

How does it affect me?

"Periodic Training" is regular training that will continue throughout your professional driving career to help you as a driver and to encourage safe driving for life.

Every professional driver who driver a vehicle over 3.5tonne will need to complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to retain their Driver CPC

What are the penalties?

No Driver CPC - Max £1000 fine

Permitting or causing a driver to drive without a Driver CPC - Max £1000 fine

Failing to produce your Driver CPC card while driving - Max £1000 fine

Falsification of documents to obtain a Driver CPC card - 2 years imprisonment and/or fine

Making false statements to obtain Driver CPC - 2 years imprisonment and/or fine
