Forklift training fleet gets some new additions

Since the refresh of the Plant training Fleet was completed (for now...) earlier this year; It was time to turn our attention to the Forklift Training fleet.

We added a new Counterbalance forklift to the forklift training fleet last May but this time the focus was on the Reach Truck and Pallet Trucks.

Having had our current reach truck for a number of years it was time to change it for a fresh model. Again the decision to stick with the Toyota brand for the new reach truck was a no brainer for us, given the reliability and ease of use of the truck and the quality of service we have received from Carryduff Forklift over the past 30 years.

The new Reach Truck comes in the form of a Toyota/BT RRE140B which features a number of ergonomic improvements over our previous reach truck to improve the ease of use from an operator point of view. Some of the new features include;

• 360° steering allows for fast work cycles and smooth driving
• The controls are simple and logical, with fingertip control levers for all fork movements, and effortless electronic steering for precise driving.
• Easy Access via the low and open step make it easy to get on and off the truck

The next area of the lift truck fleet to receive some upgrades were the Pallet Trucks. A new Toyota/BT LHM230 manual truck and Toyota/BT LPE200 Electric Ride on Pallet Truck.

The LPE200 is a 2000kg capacity electric powered pallet truck with a fold down rider platform so the truck can be used in either pedestrian or ride on mode. With the "one touch" folding side guards, you can quickly and easily dismount which allows control the truck as a pedestrian even in the tightest corners. This gives you protection without compromising the flip-down platform’s manoeuvrability advantage. We can carryout training and testing for ITSSAR categories A1 Pedestrian and A2 Rider Electric Pallet Truck Categories.

The LHM230 is a 2300kg capacity manual pallet truck that will be perfect for carrying out ITSSAR category Z1 training and assessments on the pedestrian operated manual pallet truck.
